Service Description

Facilitated by Montessori teacher and Home Ed mum, Glyn. The sessions are relaxed and engaging, using the Montessori philosophy and curriculum. The class is a mix of led circle group topic discussion and free access to hands-on materials and activities. We begin the session by coming together in a group circle to explore a topic, this may be geography, the natural world, a cultural festival, or some maths or literacy work. The topic is explored through songs, stories, games, and activities. The children will then have time to freely access carefully curated materials and activities in the room, whilst being supported by Glyn – these cover aspects of development including, maths (geometry, number, counting), literacy (letters, sounds, early reading, and writing), Sensory Development, Art and creativity, Exploring the natural world and practical skills and fine motor development. We employ a democratic method in the learning space – respecting each other's ideas and fostering kind and respectful group learning skills, whilst supporting individual self-esteem and self-confidence. Info: This class runs on a termly booking, message to book a taster or to join part way through a term. This session is in the Westbrook Room at Dawley Baptist Church, Park Rd, Overdale, Telford TF4 2BE. There is free on-site parking. Please use the main entrance, and then head through the double doors on the left of the lobby. Toilet and baby change facilities are available.
